Mid North Coast Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service can support women applying for Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVO).
The Role of the Advocacy Worker
A worker will:
Explain about Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVO's) and Apprehended Personal Violence Orders (APVO's).
Support you with making an Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVO) application with police, the court Registrar or private application.
Explain the court process.
Assist and support you at court for mentions and if your ADVO or APVO matter is adjourned to a hearing.
Tell you about other services that can help including referrals to Legal Services.
The service employs workers (including an Aboriginal Specialist Worker) that can attend court at Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Taree, Gloucester and Forster.
